  • CAA Book Club 2024!
    We are so excited to tell you about a new addition to the CASA Professional Development Experience: A CASA Book Club! Each month a book will be featured that the book club will read and then discuss together. Meetings will last an hour and take place at the CASA office. Training hours will be counted by considering the standard rule of readings for CASA training: 100 pages=2.5 hour, then we will add the one hour of book club meeting.   • Updates for the 2023 year
    Here are the highlights to be aware of as we begin 2023: Be aware that training hours do not roll over from year to year. Everyone must receive a new twelve hours of training by December 31st 2023, A new Professional Development Credit Report will be available for 2023. This is a fillable document that does not require a signature. The PDCR is required for any books, videos, movies, or trainings received that do not give a certificate upon completion.   • Self Care Counts
    While you are in the process of obtaining your 12 hours of annual CASA training please know you can count one of your training hours as “Self Care Training”. This can be a yoga session, or some form of exercise that takes one hour. We will also count walks/jogs/ or therapy sessions. In order to count this one hour of very important training all you have to do is completely fill out the Professional Development Credit Report.     The new CASA CAMPUS is up and running! Monthly virtual trainings facilitated by the Oklahoma State CASA Association are now available through a new training platform called “Coalition Manager.” Here are instructions on how to create an account and access trainings: To create an account: Visit oklahomacasa.coalitionmanager.org Click Join Us Fill out the form choose CASA Volunteers as Contact Type You don’t need to fill out Employer or occupation if your prefer not to.
